This policy explains what personal data Filakaar, a proprietorship of Jagdish Chhaganlal Patel ("we", "us") collects when you use this website or buy from us, why we use it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and mobile number.
- Delivery details: the addresses you give us, including any you save to your account.
- Order details: what you ordered, personalisation text, prices, coupons used, payment status, invoices and delivery tracking.
- Account details: if you create an account, your email address, and if you sign in with Google, the name and email address Google shares with us.
- Messages: what you send us by email, WhatsApp or the custom order form, including any designs or photos.
- Technical data: your browser and device type, and your IP address. We store IP addresses only in a scrambled (hashed) form, for security and to prevent abuse.
We don't store your card, UPI or bank details. Online payments are handled by our payment partner; for UPI or bank transfers we only keep the payment reference.
Why we use it
- To make, ship and deliver your orders, and to send order emails, invoices and tracking updates.
- To create and run your account, including sending sign-in codes.
- To reply to your messages and help with claims.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud and spam.
- To meet our legal duties, such as keeping GST records.
We use your data because you've given it to us to place an order or use your account, or because the law requires it. We don't send marketing emails without your consent.
Cookies and your browser
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, for up to 30 days. Your cart, wishlist and checkout details are saved in your own browser, so they're still there next time you visit. Our security provider may use essential cookies to block bots. If we start using analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy first.
Who we share it with
We share only what's needed with the service providers who help us run the store:
- our payment partner, to take payments;
- courier and shipping partners (such as Shiprocket and the couriers it uses), to deliver your order in India or abroad, including customs authorities for international parcels;
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website;
- Brevo, which sends our emails;
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google;
- our accountants and government authorities, where the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal data. Some of these providers may store or process data outside India, with appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Order and invoice records: as long as tax law requires (currently at least 6 years).
- Account details and saved addresses: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes. Sign-in sessions: 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, except where the law requires us to keep it (such as invoices);
- stop using it where you've given consent.
You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity. To make a request, email hello@filakaar.com. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact our Grievance Officer, and after that the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Our products are for everyone, but anyone under 18 should place orders with a parent or guardian's permission.
Keeping data safe
We use secure connections (HTTPS), restricted access for staff, and trusted providers to protect your data. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and will tell you and the authorities if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
